Sundown Shirt - Natural Cotton Wool Typewriter Cloth
A warm-weather layer with an old soul, the Sundown Shirt is cut wide and airy from a richly textured Japanese cotton-wool typewriter cloth. Woven on vintage shuttle looms at a family-owned mill in Japan, the fabric uses extrafine Supima cotton yarns in the warp and cotton-wool core yarns in the weft. The difference in shrinkage between the two fibers creates a subtle, natural texture that softens and evolves with every wear.
Thoughtfully tailored with a convertible collar, flat hem, and a single chest pocket, it leans relaxed but never sloppy. A single-layer back yoke with twin knife pleats builds volume into the silhouette, adding structure to the generous cut. The combination of flat felled and French seams gives the piece a durable, polished finish that’s built to last and built to age.
Looks sharp over a tank or ribbed tee in the summer, or layered under a light jacket when the sun starts to set. Keep it open and breezy or buttoned and tucked to clean it up.
