Lot.701 Denim Jacket - Raw Indigo
The Lot. 701 Denim Jacket stands as one of T.T.’s most iconic pieces, cut from an original 100% American organic cotton denim woven in Okayama. Using an old-style shuttle loom, which runs ten to twenty times slower than modern machines, the fabric is produced with an intentional irregularity that captures the natural unevenness of cotton yarn for a rich, textured hand.
This 3/1 left-hand twill denim carries a distinctive character. The warp yarn is rope-dyed in indigo mixed with sulfur dye, creating a deep indigo with a definitive green-cast that will age into a weathered, vintage look. The weft is custom-made nep yarn, dyed in a softly yellowed natural tone to suggest the passage of time. Together, the yarns create a shade of indigo that feels both deep and lived-in. Sanforization prevents shrinkage, while selvedge detailing with a white edge is featured throughout the jacket in the front facing, cuffs, and inner construction.
In studying the 1940s shift in denim jacket details, T.T. replicates the Art Déco–inspired buttons and rivets of the era, replacing rugged iron with decorative, historically accurate designs, all custom-colored for this release. The finishing touch is a mud-dyed leather patch from Amami Oshima Island, adding artisanal depth and a subtle nod to tradition.
