Cotton/Nylon Down Vest - Red
In the 1950s, the COTTON/NYLON DOWN VEST emerged as a more lightweight and mobile alternative to the popular down jacket of the 1930s. Its design was inspired by the original jacket, which was developed in the 1940s for a team of American expeditioners attempting to climb K2 (The Savage Mountain) in 1953. By removing the sleeves and hood, the vest maintained similar heat retention capabilities while allowing for improved mobility. Made from a blend of 60% cotton and 40% nylon, with a durable 100% nylon rip-stop lining, and filled with premium French duck down, this vest ensures optimal warmth. Other features include nylon ribbing and a 50s square front zipper with a brass finish.
