Simple
Simple Shoes was founded in 1991 by Eric Meyer as a reaction to the excessive design, superficial window dressing, and overproduced marketing that was, and still often is, rampant in commercial goods. SoCal based, the footwear and apparel brand is influenced by surfing, skating, and art, but keeps to minimal, clean, stripped-down design and honest manufacturing practices. They were one of the first to use green materials like bamboo, hemp, jute, recycled PET, used tires and cork in their products, pioneering sustainability at a time when the majority of American companies were mass-manufacturing overseas with little regard to pollution or the environment. Simple’s main ethos is to produce things that not only look good, but are good for the planet.
