Thanks to pioneer publications in the 60s like  Men’s Club Magazine and  Take Ivy, J. Press became a coveted clothier for Japanese professionals. In 1974, the Press family sold the rights to license J. Press in Japan - becoming the first American brand to be licensed on the archipelago. To many in Japan, J. Press is considered the sartorial standard by which all other professional attire is compared and judged. Japan’s imprint of J. Press connects the next generation of new ivy with traditional styles.
