Introducing the canoe club x engineered garments collaboration

We have long been Engineered Garments fans here at Canoe Club, and at this point, who isn't? In fact, EG was one of the first brands we carried since we first opened our doors six years ago. The way the brand elegantly blends modern sophistication with classic workwear is the ideal story we all look for in a brand.

Needless to say, Engineered Garments is a big deal. From the very first collection we ever offered, to the newest one that is currently in our store, we have incredible respect and adoration for the brand. Their ethos and sensibilities as a brand also resonate with us to this day. Ever since we opened the store, Daiki Suzuki is someone we have looked up to, not just as a designer, but as a colleague, and a friend.

If you asked us who our dream collaboration would be with, everyone here would have a unanimous answer – Engineered Garments. So when the team at Engineered Garments reached out to us to work on a collaboration for the first time this season, we couldn’t be more honored to do so. Working with a brand we’ve all looked up to, and being able to build something together not just for us, but for our community, has been very special to us.

For our first collaborative effort, we drew inspiration from iconic English workwear. Pieces from this era remind us of how human clothing can be. We built the collection to cater to the real day-to-day needs of people while keeping it rugged enough to endure hard wear for a long time. We love the idea of uniform dressing, so we knew we wanted to do a matching kit. We love seeing different people interpret a kit in their own ways. We chose colors and fabrics that feel personal to us, and we wanted the collection to work well in any wardrobe, encouraging everyone to live more in our clothing. Never fussy, subtly chic, and generationally cool.

We are excited to introduce the Club Coat with a matching Fatigue Pant. Both will feature Engineered Garments classic cotton twill fabric with custom tartan plaid lining, custom antique brass hardware, plus Canoe Club collaborative tags. The Club Coat offers a modern mix of a driver’s coat and a worker’s jacket. It also features a contrast corduroy collar and cuffs, with a cropped and boxy fit. Of course, we had to do a classic Fatigue Pant, featuring staple Engineered Garments details such as the secret zipper stash pocket and the EG signature fit we’ve all come to know and love. Both kits will be available in two colors, Storm and Ink.

It was really fun to work collaboratively with everyone involved in this project. We feel like a little piece of everyone is represented in this collection. We couldn’t be more proud and excited about it, and we hope you are too. Wear them together, or as standalone pieces, we just want to see you wear these pieces and make them yours.
