1947 501 - Rigid

Levi's Vintage Clothing

The 1947 501 has become the blueprint for modern American denim manufacturers and arugably one of the most famous fits of denim of all time. This fit is straight with a higher rise and snug top lock. Think James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause. This was the first model introduced after World War II and was slimmed down from the workwear look to appeal to the middle class. This pair is in rigid, shrink-to-fit denim

Straight fit with a higher rise and snug top lock. If not washing for an extended period of time, you can go with your usual size and rinse after extended wear. If looking to wash in the machine immediately, it is best to size 2 sizes up from your usual waist size. There is also the option to do the shrink to fit method, where you would buy one size up from your usual and sit in a tub with warm water and allowing them to dry on your body for the perfect shrink to fit size.
