Originally introduced in 1948, The Trialmaster was born out of neccessity. Off-road motorcyle racing was becoming one of Englands most popular and most dangerous sports, but as the bikes got more rugged and the racing got more treacherous the cyclists demanded better outerwear: Enter the Trialmaster. An ultra dialed heavy weight waxed cotton that gave riders the durability, protection from the elements, and the mobility they craved. Belstaff also recognized that racers need plenty of easily accessible bellows pockets and a collar that was cropped to properly fit helmets. It didn't take long before the jacket started creeping in from the tracks to the streets, and it didn't hurt its reputation by becoming Mr. Steve McQueens go-to riding coat. Since then the jacket has become a menswear icon and a the cherry on top of Belstaffs, now massive, collection of outerwear. These vintage versions span the lifetime of the Trialmaster and are all worn in perfectly with nuanced difference in style and all that beautiful patina as well as just the right amount of gasoline smell that will have you up late researching vintage bikes.
