If you weren’t already aware, all of LVC Shrink-To-Fit denim is now made in Japan. To celebrate this mutual commitment to quality, craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail, Levi's released a limited run jean that highlights Japan. After all, The 501 has such a long and important history in Japan. To this day, vintage 501s are very covetable jeans on the Japanese market. It seemed only natural that this limited edition jean should be yet another classic 501 from the Levi’s archives like they did last year with a 1966 version that sold out to much fanfare.

This year, they’re bringing back the 1955 version - probably the most recognizable in the history of 501s - the classic 1950s rock n roll jean. Button fly, boxy fit, roomy top block and the Big-E red tab. The denim itself is a 12oz weight, and when washed features the hairy texture that’s a coveted feature of Japanese denim and again features every single element - back patch, red tab, rivets, buttons and even the packaging - translated into Japanese.

The 1955 Japan 501 Jean drops today on 501 Day, the birthday of the blue jean. With only 501 units available globally, we were able to get a limited number for our people. These will go quick, so secure your size now!
