One Ear Brand Bandannas are the result of one man’s love affair with the simple fabric square. More than even denim, bandannas have a rich and varied history that goes back to ancient Indian badhnatis, to Scottish textile dominance at the beginning of the European Industrial Revolution, and finally, and most recognizable, as a truly American tradition. No one knows this history better than Jonathon Lukacek. An avid collector and the other man behind Kiro Hirata’s Elephant Brand Bandanna Museum on the grounds of Kapital’s headquarters in Kojima, Japan - Lukacek has developed something that brings greater depth and appreciation to the history and art of bandannas with the Two Ears brand and the larger format sublabel One Ear Bandannas.

Using a textile factory in Japan capable of making narrow width selvedge fabrics, One Ear makes bandannas (the only two-sided selvedge bandannas in the world) that are nearly identical to the western bandannas from the late 1800s in their total production and hand-print quality. Repurposing and using homage bandanna designs, Jonathan Lukacek and artist Yurika Cherise Shikai, create large bandannas with superior style and a myriad of uses.
