The Mount Rushmore of Denim Jackets
We have the most celebrated foursome in denim jacket history. Not just reproductions, but THE originals. Like those dynamite-carved faces in South Dakota, these jackets have sway and presence.
VINTAGE LEVI'S TYPE I DENIM JACKET- 1936
The Type 1 is the George Washington of jean jackets. With rugged integrity, Levi’s Type 1 has always worked hard.
A little extra chest room if you’re layering it with a blue waistcoat and a lace-trimmed jabot (or something else), this jacket is revolutionary.
It’s true that Washington never had the chance to get to work on Mount Vernon in one of these, but you can imagine that his famously broad shoulders and presidential stature would have found a comfortable working companion in a Type 1.
VINTAGE LEVI'S TYPE II DENIM JACKET- 1956
The Type 2 is the Lincoln of the bunch.
An updated version of the Type 1, this jacket has a slimmer body for an honest Abe, and is just as loyal to the American ideal.
So loyal that no one will be able to tear you apart from it. Made for all the people, this jacket cannot be divided from the work it took to create its endurance and constitution.
A more perfect union could hardly be reimagined.
VINTAGE LEVI'S TYPE III DENIM JACKET- 1967
The Type 3 is the Thomas Jefferson of jean jackets, hanging out on a beautiful estate, drinking sweet tea, and playing yard games with good friends.
This jacket looks smart with everything and goes everywhere.
Its declaration of style is as poignant as when it was first stated in ‘67.
Or was that ‘76?
WRANGLER BLUE BELL DENIM JACKET- 1948
Before a speech in Milwaukee in 1912, an unemployed saloonkeeper shot Teddy Roosevelt in the chest, but instead of going to the hospital, he delivered his 90 minute speech.
Unbuttoning his jacket to show the crowd his blood-stained shirt, he declared, “it takes more than that to kill a bull moose.”
The 1948 Wrangler First Edition "Blue Bell" Denim Jacket is the Teddy Roosevelt of the crew. With badland ruggedness, this jacket is ready to explore the national parks. The Wrangler First Edition is made for all rough riders that require cool toughness in a jacket.
Clearly these denim jackets won’t get your face carved into a mountain for generations to admire, but they certainly won’t stop that from happening. And yeah, it may be a stretch that jean jackets are at all like presidents, but both groupings have style and gravitas. The real deal is that we have the complete set of OG denim jackets from ‘36, ‘48, ‘56, and ‘67. Just the four of them, a rare vintage collection we’re offering you.
